Rapper Chris Kelly - part of the Kriss Kross rap duo - was found to have ingested a deadly cocktail of drugs that led to his death at the age of 34 in May.

The toxic combination consisted of heroin, cocaine, ethanol, hydrocodone and alprazolam, said Betty Honey of the Fulton County Medical Examiner's office in Atlanta, where Kelly died. According to the police report from the night Kelly died, his mother, Donna Kelly Pratte, told police she was aware he was on heroin and cocaine the night before.

TMZ reported a video that leaked of Kelly from only a couple hours before his death on May 1. In the video, Kelly is videotaping himself trying to rap where he appears to be under the influence.

Less than three hours after the video was taken, Kelly was found unresponsive in his Atlanta home and pronounced dead at Atlanta Medical Center shortly after 5:30 p.m. local time, according to the Fulton County Medical Examiner.

In addition to the footage, Kelly also had a long history of drug abuse.

Kelly and fellow Kris Kross member Chris Smith were just 13 in 1991 when they were famously discovered at Atlanta's Greenbriar Mall by well-known rapper and producer Jermaine Dupri, who was 19 himself. They are most famously known for their song Jump and for commonly wearing their cloths backwards.

Kelly went by the nickname Mac Daddy and Smith went by Daddy Mac. Shortly after Kelly's death, Smith released a touching statement about his band member.

"Our friendship began as little boys in first grade. We grew up together. It was a blessing to achieve the success, travel the world and entertain Kris Kross fans all around the world with my best friend," he said. "It is what we wanted to do and what brought us happiness. I will always cherish the memories of the C-Connection."

Kris Kross performed together as recently as February, taking the stage at the 20th anniversary of Dupri's Atlanta-based record label So Def Recordings.
