Ashlee Simpson and Evan Ross have fueled dating rumors after the duo was spotted holding hands in Hollywood Monday night. 

The 28-year-old singer and the 24-year-old son of Diana Ross hung out at the Sunset Marquis Hotel and were seen grasping each other's hand, as they left the venue on their way to shop at Teddy's in the Roosevelt Hotel, according to The New York Daily News. 

Ashlee looked gorgeous on Monday in a floral one-piece suit, her blonde hair hanging down her shoulders, while Ross sported a long black overcoat with pants and a white shirt.

According to Us Weekly, the two enjoyed a lunch date together on Tuesday in West Hollywood, after spending time at a mutual's friend's home that morning. 

Sources said the duo are just friends. 

"Evan and Ashlee have been friends for a really long time, probably 10 years," a source said. "They know each other from the club scene and have tons of mutual friends."

Ashlee is still single, sincle her split form Boardwalk Empire actor Vincent Piazza in November 2012. 

"There was no bad blood and no third party involved," a source said at the time. "It was honestly just a long distance relationship and it became too hard to make it work."

"Vincent has been working a lot, so he hasn't been able to spend as much time with Ashlee, which has caused some problems. It was a mutual agreement to split, but things have been bumpy for a little while, so perhaps they might reconcile," another source added.

Simpson has a 4-year-old son, Bronx, from her previous marriage to Pete Wentz, 33. The pair reamin cordial since their divorce in 2011. 

Ashlee, the younger sister of Jessica Simpson, became an aunt for the second time after her sister gave birth to a baby boy, Ace Knute Johnson on June 30. Ashlee's son is said to be very excited about his new cousin.
