Nick Cannon recently admitted that he would be happy to get married again to Mariah Carey, but he added that he isn't getting his hopes up.

The news made it back to her singer ex-wife. While leaving Beverly Hills for lunch on October 11, TMZ asked Carey what she thought of her radio host husband wanting to rejoin her in matrimony. At first, she told the media outlet that she hadn't heard what he said.

Once the photographer gave her the rundown, Carey downplayed the comments.

"Remarry? This is him making this up. This is him being silly. Are you good with the single life the rest of your life, basically?"  Carey said.

Then the 'Heartbreaker' shot back with, "What is he, my last hope?"

For what it's worth, it seemed like Cannon didn't mean he keenly wants to get re-wedded to the diva. Rather, if he got married again for some reason, he would want it to be with the singer.

Clarifying what he said on T.I.'s podcast, Canon admitted that he's still working on his self to become a better man. And if he could get married again, he would go back home before doing it.

Cannon also said during a guesting at The Ellen Degeneres Show that he and his ex-wife have an amazing co-parenting relationship and their kids are happy.

Mariah Carey's Post-Divorce Love

Carey started dating choreographer Bryan Tanaka back in 2016. Although the dancer has been posting snaps of them on social media, the diva usually keeps mum about their romance.

In a 2017 interview, she said she doesn't feel comfortable talking about her personal life.

Mariah and Nick -- Growing Apart

Cannon and Carey separated in 2014 but only finalized their divorce in 2016.

"It was all my fault; I did it." Cannon jokingly said.

After their divorce, Mariah was already preparing to wed her now ex-fiance James Packer

Carey and Cannon has never opened up in detail about the real reason behind their parting, but it was later publicized that they were no longer moving forward as a couple.

Speaking to Wendy Williams, Cannon said that when two people are in a relationship, it should be about growth and that there should be a situation where everyone's becoming a better human being in their relationship.

He added that when you get to a point where there's no longer any development, and you're not improving each other, it may probably be best to separate. It was the best decision for their children, who are their main priority.

The ex-couple has a set of twins, Monroe and Moroccan. Since the divorce, they have maintained a close relationship, but Cannon claims that there's no romance now at all.

Carey was engaged to the Australian billionaire Packer in 2016, but they split in October of 2017. She then had an on and off relationship with her current choreographer beau.

While Cannon and Carey are not together anymore, he remains compassionate of his ex-wife: "Whatever she wants to do to her personal life, I support her. I just want her to be happy."
