Kerry Washington knows how to keep a secret as well as her 'Scandal' character, Olivia Pope! The 36-year-old actress reportedly married San Francisco 49ers player Nnamdi Asomugha on June 24.

Many fans are curious about the NFL player's background.

Asomugha's parents are from Nigeria, but he was born in Lafayette, La. and raised in Southern California. He made a name for himself playing football at L.A.'s Narbonne High School and later attended the University of California, Berkeley. He graduated from the college with a Bachelor of Arts degree in corporate finance, according to reports.

Asomugha was drafted in the 2003 NFL draft by the Oakland Raiders and played with the team until he signed with the Philadelphia Eagles in 2010. On April 2013, he signed with the 49ers.

Football isn't the only talent on Asomugha's resume, he is also an actor. He made his screen debut, back in 2008, on the sitcom, The Game. He also had a role in the TV series Friday Night Lights and appeared alongside Bruce Willis, Josh Duhamel, and Rosario Dawson in the movie Fire With Fire.

Asomugha's successful career hasn't even been negatively impacted by a form of color blindness her suffers from called deuteranomaly.

"It was determined when I was about 7 years old. It's never really affected my play on the field -- I can easily distinguish between light and dark colors," he told ESPN The Magazine in June 2009. "I only have trouble between similar colors -- the light ones. They look the same to me. No problems on the field."

Gossip website TerezOwens.com was the first media outlet to report Washington and Asomugha's secret wedding in Blaine County, Idaho.

"It has been recorded in the Blaine County clerk's office that Nnamdi Asomugha and Kerry Washington have been married on the 24th of June in the town of Hailey, Idaho," a representative for the clerk's office told Us Weekly.
