Was it the 'perfect timing' for Selena Gomez to release her back to back songs about JB?

Her songs "Lose You to Love Me" and "Look at Her Now" were reportedly written a year ago. But could it be affecting Hailey Baldwin and Justin Bieber's marriage?

In an interview with Vogue in February, Justin admitted he was "emotionally unstable" and Hailey revealed that the "marriage is really effing hard." The newlywed also divulged the hardest part of marrying Justin was having a hundred million rivals seemingly rooting for them to fail.

In May, Bieber sought treatment for depression and reportedly continued to turn to Selena for advice!

Newlyweds Disrupted

Things turned alright in September when the couple set off to a luxury resort in South Carolina and had a ceremonial wedding in front of their family and friend.

But now, Selena's songs have Hailey worrying that her husband will "start thinking about his past" -- which is a very dark place for him.

Wifezilla Reacts?

When "Lose You to Love Me" came out, Jelena and Selenators blasted Hailey Baldwin for her "I'll Kill You" screenshot posted on her IG stories. Hailey later denied that the "I'll Kill You" post was about Selena Gomez, calling out fans to stop the nonsense.

After her second new song "Look at Her Now" came out, Selena Gomez subtly addressed Hailey's cryptic post in an Instagram LIVE video. She first thanked fans for their support and reminded them not to tear another woman down since that was not her intention at all.

Apparently, her subtle defense of Hailey Baldwin-Bieber was well-received. Hailey "liked" a photo of Selena Gomez celebrating her new music with friends.

The photo was posted by Selena and Hailey's common friend Raquelle Stevens.

Listen to it, J-Beebs

In an interview on the Zach Sang show, Gomez was asked if she hoped the 'individual' about whom she wrote the song would hear it, to which she responds, "Yeah, I do."

But when asked directly who she was talking to in "Look at Her Now," she said she was "talking to every girl that's felt what i felt." Selena added how one of the worst moments in her life turned out to be the biggest blessing. With that said, she clarified that she never thought of having ill intentions in writing her music.

What does Justin Bieber Think?

Now that the two ladies were able to set their differences aside, all eyes look to The Bieb for a response.

An E! News source claimed that Justin and his wife are not phased by the new songs. Their source also revealed that the newlyweds have heard Gomez's new songs and are happy to see Selena in a good place.

The lyrics reference to Justin, however, is not ideal for Hailey. But, JB assured that he has completely moved on from that chapter of his life with Selena. In fact, Bieber was reportedly prepared to have a song about him written by Selena, noting that the 27-year-old singer-songwriter has always drawn inspiration from her past.
