Ariana Grande is not herself this Halloween.

Ariana has been teasing clips and photos of her "Twilight Zone"-inspired Halloween costume, but the "Grande" reveal is a lot more than expected.

Everyone Wants to be Ariana

Eminem's daughter dressed up as Ariana Grande for Halloween, and there are many more Ari-inspired Halloween costume ideas out there -- including her Grande Claus to her Legally Grande and cheerleader outfits.

While Ari's look is easy to copy with a babydoll dress and her signature high ponytail, Grande sent a strong message to her followers with Le Grande Twilight Zone Halloween makeup.

Ari Loves Old Hollywood

Early this week, Grande got her fans excited by giving hints of the look she would channel for Halloween this year. She posted clips of "Twilight Zone," a sci-fi series on CBS which ran from 1959 to 1964. The show captured the incredible talent of the Emmy award-winning creator and presenter Rod Serling.

A film remake "Twilight Zone: The Movie" was also produced by Steven Spielberg and John Landis in 1983.

In the "Eye of the Beholder" episode shared by Grande on social media, Janet Tyler (Donna Douglas) is desperate to go under the needle after the nurses described her face as a "pitiful twisted lump of flesh."

But her doctor and nurses called the procedure a failure. When the lights turned on, the beautiful woman saw what the medical staff meant by trying to make her look normal. Her conventional look was unlike theirs -- sunken eyes, swollen lip and pig-like noses. The woman was later exiled to a village with her own kind.

If anything, Ari's Halloween inspiration also showed her incredible taste in filmography and love for black-and-white Old Hollywood classics. In 2017, Grande also channeled another '50s icon by looking the part of Betty Davis from the classic film "All About Eve."

Getting the Look

Grande ditches her usual glam look for a downright terrifying Halloween costume as one of the uglies.

Ari sported not only a "Twilight Zone" mask as her followers expected, but also prosthetics that made her face look distorted in reality. Grande previously mentioned that it took her five hours to get the look. She said this in response to a fan who edited her photo with a pig-like face.

Fun fact: Ari is obsessed with pigs, having adopted a pig with then-boyfriend Pete Davidson. She named it Piggy Smalls.

Grande debuted her Halloween look with her signature ponytail and "Dangerous Woman" pose. Her glam team included Josh Liu, Daniel Chinchilla and Julie Hassett. Ricky Alvarez took the freaky shots.

Ari Defies Beauty Standards

Ariana Grande's Halloween makeup comes with a reminder of the anecdote "Beauty is in the eye of the beholder." This was used in the film as a reminder to Tyler and the others in the village deemed "uglies" for not having distorted faces.

The anecdote may sound cliché, but Ari is sending a timely message of inclusivity. "Eye of the Beholder" was meant to question society's standards of beauty, and in a creepy way, make us realize there is not a single definition of beauty.
