Brian Tarantina was found dead in his home. This native of New York studied acting in the city before he pursued a career in film.

Known for the role he played in "The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel," Tarantina has been confirmed dead at 60 years old.

At around 12:40 a.m. of Saturday, the officers from the New York Police Department received a call about an unconscious person in an apartment in Manhattan. A spokesperson from NYPD confirmed the report to People

When the NYPD officers arrived at the scene, Tarantina was seen lying on his couch. Emergency Medical Services have also responded. After trying to resuscitate him, they pronounced him dead.

The official cause of his death has yet to be confirmed by the New York City medical examiners office.

A representative of Tarantina told People that he had been ill for quite some time. In fact, before he was found dead in his apartment, he had spent a few weeks at the hospital. He was checked out and was advised to recuperate at his home. The source said that he was hospitalized due to heart-related issues.

According to the first report by TMZ, the niece of Tarantina found his body beside a white powdery substance. The first responders believed it to be narcotics. TMZ released the report that Tarantina died of an apparent drug overdose.

Tranatina's role as Jackie in "The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel" was what he was last known for. When the popular Amazon series won the Outstanding Ensemble in a Comedy Series from the Screen Actors Guild earlier this year, Tarantina was seen in attendance with the rest of the cast.

The actor also played a role in several television shows like "Gilmore Girls" and "The Black Donnellys." He also featured in "Law and Order," "Heroes" and "The Good Wife."

Before he joined these television programs, Tarantina had a long career in film that began in the 1980s. Some of the movies he was part of were "Jacob's Ladder", "Uncle Buck," "Donnie Brasco" and "Summer of Sam."

This year, Tarantina starred alongside Tiffany Haddish and Melissa McCarthy in "The Kitchen."

In August, the half-Irish, half-Italian played the role of Officer Clay Mulaney in Black Klansman. It is a film based on the life of Ron Stallworth by Spike Lee

Brian Tarantina has made great contributions to both the film and the television. He will be greatly remembered as a good actor and an even better friend to everyone he has worked with.
