The past few years has been tough for Angelina Jolie, but the "Maleficent" actress has maintained a straight face and managed to conquer her struggles in her personal life.

As Jolie looked back at her life -- from her divorce with actor Brad Pitt up to what she has become after -- she revealed that she got all of her strength to fight and move forward every day from her six children

Angelina is featured on the December-January cover of Harper's Bazaar, in which she shared about her healing and how she is coping in finding her true self.

Jolie revealed in the magazine interview that a part of each and every one of us that is "free, wild, open, and curious" are only temporary and "can get shut down by life." She then expressed how her children have greatly impacted on how she sees herself because they themselves know who she truly is.

"By pain or by harm. My children know my true self, and they have helped me to find it again and to embrace it," Jolie said.

Angelina has six kids with former husband Brad Pitt: Maddox, Pax, Zahara, Shiloh, and twins Knox and Vivienne.

The Oscar-award winning actress also revealed how hard it was for her children to go through such stressful family issue, but she noted that she learned a lot from her children's strengths.

"I learn from their strength. As parents, encourage our kids to embrace all that they are, and all that they know in their hearts to be right, and they look back at us and want the same for us," Jolie remarked.

Angelina's Relationship With Her Children

Angelina has a very strong and close relationship with her children. In September, Angelina did an interview with 'Hello!' Magazine and revealed how caring her children are. They make her feel special every time, and Angelina is very grateful to be a mother to such amazing teenagers who are growing to be mature and independent.

According to the actress, she described her motherhood to her teenagers as a "fun moment" where she rediscovers herself. Angelina also shared how motherhood is different in little kids and teenagers, pointing out that she feels more like a "mommy" when they were younger.

Now that they are teenagers, though, Angelina sees her teenage years again in them.

With her busy schedule as an actress, director and producer, Angelina shared that her kids make sure she is still taken care of. In fact, on Mother's Day this year, her kids made her breakfast and gave her flowers -- and treated her like a lady!

Indeed, Angelina is lucky -- or should we say blessed --  to have such wonderful kids in her life.
