Intermittent fasting is all the rage right now. Deny yourself food for an excruciating period and expect to drop the pounds. At least, it's effective, as these celebrities will say.

At first glance, intermittent fasting can sound pretty savage. You would need to go without food for 16, 18, or even 20 hours. Some even go all the way and don't eat for the entire day.

However, some have actually turned intermittent fasting into a lifestyle. It's not just a fad anymore or a get-skinny-quick kind of scheme. It may even be good for the health. From promoting better sleep to clearing your skin of acne, should sound like a good trade-off, right?

Still, it is not for everyone. Sure, most of these celebrities have a rigid schedule to stick to, but they have also admittedly been on hunger strikes a lot of times. They miss out on a meal because they are too busy to even have time for a sit-down dinner.

Skipping breakfast has become routine for these celebrities, like it has for many busy people. In fact, if you routinely skip meals, you may have unknowingly intermittent fasted on those days. If you're keen to make this diet yours, here are some celebrities who have gone ahead of you:

Jennifer Aniston

Jen has managed to stay in the same shape she was since she started her career. While she has been on every diet including the Atkins diet, Jen is well-known these days for adopting the latest diet trend.

The way she does intermittent fasting is "no food in the morning," but she makes sure to stay hydrated. Going without solid food for 16 hours reportedly made the actress feel a big difference. To get by without hunger pangs in the morning, she drinks celery juice - another wellness trend Jen loves.

Kourtney Kardashian

The socialite and mum-of-three stays in shape by combining two of the biggest diet trends this year - keto diet and intermittent fasting. Keto is more on essentially fatty acids which should help Kardashian not to lose her energy.

By combining these two diets, Kardashian swears she could go without food for 16 hours a day. Her first meal of the day would be at 11 am and her last meal would be at 7 pm.

On a less hectic day, Kourt would also fast for 24 hours after drinking homemade bone broth - a keto must - water, and green tea.

Jorge Cruise

For the celebrity trainer, intermittent fasting is better than keto. Low-carb, high-fat diets do not sit well with Cruise who insists that the diet can be detrimental to health citing liver damage as one of the possible risks of keto.

Cruise has worked with Khloe Kardashian to lose weight through intermittent fasting. The way "Cruise Control" diet works is an overnight burn zone followed by an 8-hour boost zone. To resist sugar cravings, he encourages giving into vanilla chai tea latte during your boost period.
