Who knew the Queen of England also has a favorite royal?

Queen Elizabeth II greatly admires her granddaughter-in-law Kate Middleton, according to reports.

What she admires most about the Duchess of Cambridge is her ability to juggle royal duties and at the same time, being a hands-on mother to their kids -- Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis.

According to Cosmo, Kate wants her kids to live in the real world. She wants to raise their children to be as normal as possible, copying a parenting strategy out of Princess Diana's playbook.

Cosmo's source said that Kate has always wanted the children to live a normal life. She and her husband, Prince William, do not want them to live in a gilded bubble.

"They want them to grow up having the same experiences as other kids," the source said.

Queen Elizabeth II and Kate reportedly have the same mantra: a keep calm and carry on approach in life. Accordint to the same source, Kate has that added benefit of making the royal family look almost normal and in touch.

Kate's Year

According to Royal biographer Claudia Joseph, 2019 is Kate's best year since the duchess seemed happy and in control.

"I think Kate seems much happier than a year ago. She has three lovely children, has been honored by the Queen for her hard work, and is really well-like not just here but around the world," Joseph shared.

Last year, the Queen awarded Kate the Royal Family Order, which is considered the highest honor the monarch can give on a female member of the family.

Despite being a duchess, the royal biographer stated that Kate still shops on the High Street for bargains and was even spotted having drinks at a pub -- making her appear "refreshingly normal."

Joseph added that Kate has a friendly girl-next-door vibe from how she dresses to how she behaves and interacts with people during engagements, which makes her likable and relatable.

Making the Queen Excited

The Queen was reportedly excited about the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge's tour in Pakistan, where she saw Kate gave her first-ever TV interview.

Kate continues to make headlines around the world with her stylish outfits, but she warned the hearts of people when she made the unusual decision to stop the royal convoy in Pakistan so the couple could meet a local family.

It is also a plus that Kate stays mum when it comes to conflicts of media and press unlike her sister-in-law Meghan Markle, who does not happen to be so quiet about.

Meghan, who recently spoke about the pressure of being a royal in a documentary, is not and has never been on the Queen's list of favorites.
