As Kate Middleton awaits her due date, she has been showered with gifts, including a box of condoms.

The Finnish social security office, known as Kela, reportedly sent the 31-year-old Duchess of Cambridge a package, which included leggings, a snowsuit, a hooded bath towel, a hairbrush, diaper rash cream, a teething toy, a picture book and some condoms, The Mirror reported.

"Kela wanted to congratulate the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge," a company spokesman said.

The publication noted that Kela gives the exact package to all expectant mothers in Finland.

The Kensington Palace was very appreciative of the thoughtful gift and released a statement expressing their gratitude.

"We were delighted to receive the very kind gift of the maternity package from the Finnish government," the statement read. "It was a very thoughtful gesture and we're very grateful for it. I'm sure the Duke and Duchess will be very interested to see the contents."

Middleton's due date was initially rumored to be mid-July, but recent reports indicate she may give birth 10 days earlier. In preparation for her delivery, security measures are being put in place to protect the Duchess' first child.

Ken Wharfe, a former bodyguard for Prince William's mother, told Life&Style magazine the new royal baby is being brought into a world where the threat of kidnapping has never been higher.

"Kate's baby could be in danger. Given the political state of the world and the vulnerability of the royals, they need a lot of protection. In this terror-ridden world of ours, there's a real risk of kidnap for this child," Wharfe said. "The world is a much more dangerous place than it was 20 years ago, when we would take William and Harry out."

Meanwhile, journalists have already lined up outside of St. Mary's hospital, where the Duchess is expected to give birth.

The announcement of the baby's birth will be placed on the gates of Buckingham Palace.
