There remains much fuss about the Duke and Duchess of Sussex's decision to skip Christmas with the Queen.

The Sussex family is bound for California, determined to spend Thanksgiving and Christmas with Doria Ragland, Meghan Markle's mom.

This should have been Baby Archie's first Christmas at Sandringham Estate. He is the only one of the Queen's eight great-grandchildren who will not be there.

It is the Sussexes first Christmas as a family of three and they chose to spend it sans Royal traditions.

Piers Morgan, yet again, blasted Meghan and Prince Harry for not doing their duty. In his opinion, they should be with the Queen and Prince Philip. Now more than ever as Harry's grandparents are aging, the British Royal family should be complete on Christmas.

But no, by hook or by crook, Meghan will spend Christmas with her mom. She is making sure to bring the Queen's grandson and great-grandson with her, too.

Did she have a bad Christmas experience at Sandringham? Prince Harry revealed Markle had a splendid experience.

The Queen Broke Royal Tradition First

Before Markle married into royalty in 2018, she was already welcomed to celebrate Christmas with the Royals. This should not have been the case as the Sandringham Christmas is strictly for the Royal Family only.

The Queen gave much leeway to Meghan Markle and allowed her into the gathering. What made the Queen break royal tradition? It was an endearing request from her grandson, Harry. Who could resist that redhead?

How Was Meghan's Christmas With the Royals?

Prince Harry revealed that her then-fiancé had a "fantastic" Christmas with his family. Yes, his family loved having Meghan around, too. Everyone enjoyed each other's presence.

Prince Harry also recalled how he and Meghan had a lot of fun staying at the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge's country estate, Anmer Hall.

Meg and Harry even spent time with their nephew Prince George and niece Princess Charlotte. Prince Louis was yet to be born during Meg's first Christmas with the royals.

Meghan Must Not Miss Sandrigham Christmas This Year

Piers Morgan feels that Meg and Harry should have used this time to rebuild relationships. There have been rumors that the Sussex Royals are not in good terms with the Kensington Royals.

In the ITV documentary where Meghan revealed she was not okay, Prince Harry admitted to having distanced himself from his brother. Prince William and Prince Harry have not been as close as they were before.

Harry was also close to his sister-in-law Kate Middleton before marrying Meg.

The Queen once broke royal tradition so Meghan could join the royals' Christmas at Sandringham. She had an amazing time then, so why is she skipping Christmas there now?

Keep in mind that the Sussex family is on a six-week sabbatical. As Prince Harry puts it, there is a work element to Sandringham Christmas, too. They are not snubbing their duty, either. They have the Queen's approval to spend Christmas wherever they please.
