Avril Lavigne and Chad Kroeger celebrated their honeymoon in Portofino, Italy, on Monday, as they were seen taking a cruise around the fishing village on a small boat.

Photographers snapped photos of the couple cuddling, holding hands and kissing as they enjoyed their European vacation. Lavigne, 28, wore a black strapless jumpsuit and a black oversized hat. Kroeger, 38, wore all white pants and a V-neck T-shirt as they strolled around the cobblestone streets of Portofino. After walking around, they dined at a local restaurant and sipped on wine.

At one point a fan came over to approach the couple and congratulate them on their wedding, Daily Mail reported. The couple then posed for a photo with the fan.

They may not have been completely alone on their vacation, since Kroeger was reportedly seen waving to somebody while talking on the telephone when their boat arrived at a port.

Lavigne and Kroeger got married at the Chateau de la Napoule on the French Riviera on July 1. She walked down the aisle in a black Monique L'huillier gown while holding a black bouquet of flowers. The groom wore a black suit with a black shirt underneath. Their first official wedding photo was printed on the cover of Hello! magazine. In a nod to their native country, the wedding took place on Canada Day. 

Lavigne told the publication about how she felt during the wedding ceremony: "I had goosebumps from head to toe and my eyes filled with tears. It's a moment I will never forget as long as I live."

"I saw him and he was so calm and happy. He had a tear coming down and he wiped it away," she said. "I felt so good walking to him. It made me feel like a complete woman."  

Kroeger proposed in August of 2012 after a month of dating with a 14-carat diamond ring. Lavigne was previously married to Sum 41 frontman Deryck Whibley.
