The Weeknd announced that he will head out on tour this fall to promote his upcoming sophomore album Kiss Land.

The 23-year-old singer posted a photo with a list of the tour dates on his Twitter on Monday with the simple caption, "the fall tour."

The tour will kick off on September 6 at Vancouver's Orpheum Theatre and his last show will also be in Canada on October 20. The singer will play several dates in the U.S. with stops in Los Angeles, Miami, New York, Chicago and Houston.

His opening acts will include a Los Angeles based female singer and songwriter named Banks and an Australian electronic dance singer Anna Lunoe. The Weeknd exclusively selected the two artists to accompany him, according to RapUp.com.

Many fans responded to The Weeknd's tour news with enthusiasm on Twitter.

"When do tickets go on sale so I can mark my calendar," wrote one user.

"I waited so long," tweeted another.

The Weeknd, whose real name is Abel Tesfaye, will release the sophomore album at the end of the summer. He already released the album's title track in May.

"I'll admit baby, I'm a little camera shy, but exceptions can be made baby, cause you're too damn fly. For what it's worth, I hope you enjoy," he sings on the song.

The record will be the follow-up to his compilation album Trilogy, which was released in 2012. The album has sold 355,000 copies to date, according to Nielsen SoundScan. It features the popular song Wicked Games and the video has garnered over 22 million YouTube views since it was released in October 2012.

Aside from his own projected, the singer also recently worked with rapper Juicy J on the song Those Nights. Released in June, the track will appear on the Three 6 Mafia member's third studio album Stay Trippy expected in August.
