Beyonce's father said his two daughters, both singers, could not attend his wedding because of "previous engagements," but their schedules showed they had no performances expected to take place that day.

Mathew Knowles married former model Gena Charmaine Avery on June 30 in Houston, Texas, he confirmed to Us Weekly. Beyonce's former manager, 61, was engaged to the 48-year-old realtor Avery for a year and a half. Neither Beyonce nor her sister, Solange Knowles, attended the wedding.

"Unfortunately, Beyonce and Solange had previous engagements which made it impossible for them to attend," Mathew told the magazine.

However, the sisters' schedules showed they had no performances that day. The Run the World singer recently began the U.S. start of her The Mrs. Carter Show world tour. Although she took the stage in Las Vegas the night before the wedding, she did not have a concert on the day of the ceremony, according to TVNZ One News. According to Solange's schedule, she had the entire weekend free of performances.

The former Destiny's Child singer famously fired her father as her manager in 2011. Beyonce previously said she knew it would affect their relationship but that it had to be done.

"I had to sacrifice my relationship with dad. I had to let go," Beyonce stated.

Since then, she reportedly tried to mend her relationship with her Mathew. Despite their trials, the singer stressed they did not part because of personal matters.

"I've only parted ways with my father on a business level," Beyonce said. "He is my father for life and I love my dad dearly. I am grateful for everything he has taught me. I grew up watching both he and my mother [Tina Knowles] manage and own their own businesses. They were hard-working entrepreneurs and I will continue to follow in their footsteps."

Mathew divorced Beyonce and Solange's mother, Tina, in 2011 after 31 years of marriage.
