Leonardo DiCaprio did not make it to the premiere of "Titanic 3D," a re-launch of the 1997 Academy Award winning film.

Director James Cameron said Tuesday that the actor had a prior commitment.

"I wish Leo could be here but he's shooting a film. It would have been great for Leo to be here, to be part of the celebrations," Cameron told OK! Magazine. A source close to the actor told the Hollywood Reporter DiCaprio is in Louisiana filming Quentin Tatantino's "Django Unchained."

Cameron described DiCaprio's embarrassed reaction to seeing a snippet of the 3D version of the film about a year and a half ago.

"I didn't show him the whole film but I showed him 18 minutes of it a few months ago," Cameron told OK!.

"It was a good reunion for us but great to watch his reaction. He couldn't believe it. He said to me, 'I'm such a young punk. Look at me.' He was practically crawling under the seat. It was a good moment."
