Lamar Odom is reportedly "close to signing" back with Kobe Byrant and the Los Angeles Lakers.

Rumors first swirled on Monday that the 33-year-old husband of Khloe Kardashian was in talks with the Lakers to be traded back to his old team after Dwight Howard announced his move to the Houston Rockets Friday.

According to Us Weekly, Odom is excited to be back with the team.

"Lamar is thrilled and always loved being a Laker," a source said. "He was really sad when they traded him."

Odom won two championships with Bryant and the Lakers in 2009 and 2010. In December 2011, he was traded to the Dallas Mavericks. Four months later in April, he was listed as inactive for the remainder of the season, then was traded to the Los Angeles in June 2012.

At the time, Bryant was unhappy about the trade, saying that he "didn't like it."

"You're talking about the Sixth Man of the Year last year," Bryant said. "He played lights out. I don't understand the criticism of reality shows and this, that and the other... I don't understand that."

Khloe, who at time was blamed for the trade because of the bad publicity around the couple's E! reality show, Khloe & Lamar has remained supportive of Odom throughout her husband's NBA career. She admitted that she was sadden by the trade, but kept a positive mindset about moving from Los Angeles to Texas.

"I am sure I will love it but I am a tad thrown off...I know for a fact blessings are everywhere!" she tweeted at the time. "Everything happens for a reason. God is great."

Meanwhile, Bryant took to Twitter to explain why he unfollowed Dwight Howard on Twitter shortly after the center announced his departure from the Lakers. He also hinted about a possible LA trade.
