While there's been several months of debate over who should play the groundbreaking roles Christian Grey and Anastasia Steele in the 50 Shades of Grey movie, two actors that have seemed to have come up regularly are Matt Bomer and Emilia Clarke.

Although the casting process is far from complete, Radio Times reportedly conducted a survey that determined the two TV standouts as the favorites to land the parts of the erotic characters.

When 40,000 fans were queried on top Steele candidates such as Clarke, Mila Kunis, Emma Watson and Grey suitors such as Bomer, Robert Pattinson and Ryan Gosling.

Clarke, 26, dons the role of Daenerys Targaryen on HBO's Game of Thrones while Bomer, 35, plays Neal Caffrey, a con artist in USA's White Collar.

50 Shades screenwriter Kelly Marcel, who's nearly finished writing the film script, stated that it would be staying true to the context of James' books with lots of sex and raunchiness. Producers are reportedly aiming for an NC-17 rating, according to a write-up in Style magazine.

The film is scheduled to debut on the big screen on August 1, 2014. Be sure to keep checking back for more of the latest details on the racy flick. A recent fan-made trailer portraying Bomer as the S&M-crazed billionaire can be viewed below.
