Rumors about Lady Gaga undergoing plastic surgery were fueled by recent photos where the pop star appears to have a slimmer nose.

The Born This Way singer made her first onstage appearance following her February hip surgery when she performed at the Gay Pride Rally in New York City on June 29. The event celebrated the recent Supreme Court decision on Prop 8 and DOMA (Defense of Marriage Act.) Initially, fans didn't notice that the New York City-bred Italian singer's nose seemed slimmer when she arrived onstage. The pop star gave a speech and performed her version of The Star Spangled Banner at the event.

The 27-year-old's temporary Twitter break, which kept her from interacting with her 39 million followers, has also spurred the rumors of a recent nose job. Her Twitter page has the following message posted on it, "This interface has been shutdown temporarily. Please check back for updates."

If Lady Gaga did indeed have plastic surgery, it would contradict comments she made in her 2011 Harper's Bazaar interview. Gaga said celebrities who get any form of plastic surgery promote insecurity.

"I have never had plastic surgery, and there are many pop singers who have," Gaga told Harper's Bazaar in the May 2011 issue. "I think promoting insecurity in the form of plastic surgery is infinitely more harmful than an artistic expression related to body modification."

Gaga also commented on the popularity of plastic surgery but reiterated she has never been under the knife.

"And how many models and actresses do you see on magazine covers who have brand-new faces and have had plastic surgery, while I myself have never had any plastic surgery?" she said.

Lady Gaga has been hard at work on her upcoming third studio album, ARTPOP, which will be released later this year.

German music producer DJ Zedd, who submitted songs for ARTPOP, said he can't wait for her fans to hear it. Zedd, 23, said he is still unsure which tracks will make it to the final product. The producer has also worked with Justin Bieber.

"I just really can't imagine they would not like it, to just say it straight up," Zedd told Rolling Stone. "I think the stuff we've made is pretty f-cking cool. There's obviously more ideas and half-finished songs, but I'm not sure what she will want to put on the album," he added. "That is all her decision."
