Justin Bieber apologized to Bill Clinton on Wednesday after a video surfaced on TMZ showing the singer peeing in a bucket and cursing the former president.

In the video, the 19-year-old peeps in a mob bucket in the kitchen of a New York City nightclub and then squirts a spray bottle with blue liquid at a photo of Clinton hanging on a wall. He says, "(F-bomb) Bill Clinton" before leaving the place, just as the video ends. The footage was taken sometime earlier in 2013, the gossip website noted.

Bieber reached out to Clinton to apologize on Wednesday evening, which the singer revealed on Twitter. He tweeted: "@billclinton thanks for taking the time to talk Mr. President. Your words meant alot. #greatguy."

Clinton did not tweet back, but USA Today was one of many publications confirming on Thursday that the conversation took place between the singer and the former president. Extra cited a source that said Bieber told Clinton he was sorry for disrespecting him. The two reportedly had a smooth conversation and Clinton accepted the apology. Clinton also told the pop star to be conscious of his friends and to focus on the good work he is doing, the source added.

A different insider told E! that Clinton said something along the lines of, "If that is the worst thing you have ever done, all is well." Bieber also offered to help out with the Clinton Foundation.

Bieber is currently on his Believe tour. In wake of the controversy, he released a Twitter post admitting that he makes mistakes but that one must persevere and push past the critics.

"In life u will make mistakes and people will try and tear u down...but u gotta stay positive. Stay strong..and learn to be better..and.. always live to serve others and The Lord," he tweeted Wednesday.
