Spike Lee has reached an agreement with a Florida husband and wife who fled their home to live in a hotel after the director revealed their address in a Twitter post linked to the shooting of unarmed teenager Treyvon Martin.

Matt Morgan, an attorney for Elaine and David McClain of Sanford Fla., said Thursday the claim is "fully resolved," according to the Los Angeles Times. The couple have a son named William George Zimmerman who is unrelated to George Zimmerman, the Neighborhood Watch volunteer who shot unarmed teen Treyvon Martin.

Martin's family and prominent figures have been calling for Zimmerman's arrest.

Morgan said Lee called the couple to apologize personally while asking the public to leave the McClain family in peace.

The director also apologized on Twitter on Wednesday in a message to his more than 250,000 followers on the microblogging site, saying it was a mistake.

"I Deeply Apologize To The McCalin Family For Retweeting Their Address. It Was A Mistake. Please Leave The McClain's In Peace. Justice In Court," Lee wrote.

Lee, who regularly advocates for causes and social issues in his Twitter posts, has been strong supporter of the Martin family.

Lee's retweet, which has been deleted, has drawn its own share of complaints by those accusing Lee of endorsing vigilante justice.

Many supporters of Martin and his family say George Zimmerman murdered Martin, although Zimmerman maintains he shot the teen in self defense. Until now, Zimmerman is free pending a police investigation.
