Pop singer Carly Rae Jepsen made a failed attempt to throw the first pitch at a Tampa Bay Rays game in Florida on Sunday.

Sporting a No. 8 Rays jersey, the Call Me, Maybe singer threw the ball right into the ground, as it rolled slowly across the first base line and bounced off a cameraman's bag. The 27-year-old reacted by covering her face and giggling, finally throwing her hands up in the air. She then laughed it off with her catcher, Rays pitcher Matt Moore. The two embraced to make light of the situation.

Jepsen posted mementos from the embarrassing performance onto her Twitter and Instagram accounts. She uploaded a collage of the talked-about pitch with a before and after montage. She captioned the photo "A before and after. Me taking the mound. Me knocking the camera out of the photographers hands with the baseball. And me getting a sympathy hug from the catcher. Omg."

Jepsen was also the musical performer at the Tampa Bay Rays Game. After the sporting event, she tweeted, "Met a lot of lovelies at this game today! Go Rays!"

The singer soon realized that her pitch caught media attention. She tweeted on Sunday, "So apparently I made ESPN with my fail of a pitch. Lol- Daddy must be so proud.
