While there has been no official word on the birth of a royal baby, Kate Middleton's uncle believes his niece will welcome a baby girl.

Gary Goldsmith, who reportedly goes by the names "Uncle G" or "King of Fun" is the younger brother to Kate's mother, Carole Middleton. According to The Mirror, he said that although he doesn't know the unborn child's gender, he believes strongly that the pregnant Duchess will give birth to a girl.

"My suspicion is that they're having a baby girl," Goldsmith said. "But, of course, I don't know that for fact."

Although reports indicated that Kate nor Prince William have yet to discover the gender of the baby, Goldsmith said the royal couple already knows what they are having.

"I believe Kate and William have kept the sex of their child a secret to everyone but themselves," he said.

Goldsmith said the arrival of a little girl would mean so much to his family.

"It would be brilliant, wouldn't it, if they do have a little girl? To have one of my family, my niece, making history will be absolutely unbelievable," he said.

When asked what special gift Goldsmith will give to the little one, he said that he's been shopping for a one-of-a-kind present.

"I went to Asprey's recently and saw an amazing, huge elephant rocker, like Dumbo, for about £70,000. Or there was a chest of some first edition Tintins," he said.

"But because family is so important to Kate - she is incredibly close to Caroleand Pip - I would rather get something personal and more meaningful. Although I did like that elephant...!"

Retired soccer star, David Beckham, weighed in on the royal baby conversation and said the royal couple should name the baby after him.

"David's not bad," Beckham joked during an interview with Sky News. "I think they should go for David."

Whatever name Kate or Prince William decides on, Beckham believes the baby will be well taken care of.

"They're going to be amazing parents because they're so loving towards children," Beckham said.
