Another fresh face is now being considered as a potential suitor for the role of the S&M-crazed billionaire Christian Grey in 50 Shades of Grey, as Vampire Diaries actor Joseph Morgan has made the rumor mill.

According to HNGN, Morgan actually ranked No. 2 in a 50 Shades poll behind co-star Ian Somerhalder.

Although the 32-year-old actor is a bit older than the Grey character at 27, his rugged looks and bad boy personal may give him an upper hand at being a top contender.

Morgan is also set to star in The Vampire Diaries franchise's spin-off series, The Originals, which will be premiering in the fall along with the former.

Morgan and Somerhalder aside, other potental suitors for the Grey role include White Collar's Matt Bomer, Twilight's Robert Pattinson, and Gangster Squad's Ryan Gosling, amongst others.

50 Shades screenwriter Kelly Marcel, who's nearly finished writing the film script, stated that it would be adhering to the content of James' books with lots of sex and raunchiness. Producers are reportedly aiming for an NC-17 rating, according to Style magazine.

The movie is slated to premiere in theaters on Thursday, August 1, 2014. Be sure to keep checking back for more of the latest info on the erotic film.
