Nicole "Snooki" Polizzi is not the same party girl she used to be, and she credits it all to her firstborn, Lorenzo.

When she discussed her son, Polizzi's whole demeanor shifted from nonchalant to fully engaged.

"It's amazing," she told EnStars about becoming a mother. "It's the best thing that has ever happened to me."

The former Jersey Shore reality star said that motherhood has changed her life for the better.

"It made me grow up and I feel I'm such a better person now," she said during SELF Magazine's Rock The Summer event in New York City on Tuesday. "I'm just a mature and nicer person."

She was once known solely as a party girl, but Polizzi explained that such a lifestyle no longer suits her. Her main objectives are now raising baby Lorenzo, working out, cooking and cleaning, she said.

The 25-year-old also said she feels that the public has noticed the shift in her. While people once thought of her as a "crazy party girl," their perspective is slowly altering.

"I'm just a normal person, so I feel like people are starting to see that," she said.

Polizzi and her fiancé Jionni LaValle welcomed their baby boy on Aug. 26, 2012 -- and it clearly was love at first sight for the star.

"I am SO IN LOVE with my son Lorenzo Dominic! I had my little man last night, healthy at 6lbs! HE'S MY WORLD!," she tweeted the same day as his birth.

With baby Lorenzo's first birthday coming up, his proud mommy wants to do it big.

"I've been so busy I haven't even thought about it," she said in regards to his celebration. "But it's going to be something big because it's his first birthday so it's got to be crazy."

LaValle seems just as enthused as his fiancee to be a parent. He is starting a "Daddy Blog," in which he will "be sharing his experiences and point of view as a father," Polizzi announced on her personal website on Tuesday.
