Royal fans aren't the only ones on the edges of their seats waiting for Kate Middleton to give birth; Queen Elizabeth is too, and hopes the baby will arrive before she goes on her annual vacation.

Middleton is said to be way past her July 13 due date, with many wondering if the pregnant Duchess is actually due this weekend.

Adding pressure of Middleton's delivery is The Queen who is leaving for her scheduled vacation in Balmoral on July 19. The 87-year-old hopes to be around for the birth of her great-grandchild.

When asked an update on the baby by a group of schoolchildren at an appearance in Lake Windermere in Cumbria on July 17, The Queen said that there has been "no sign yet," of the new addition.

"I would very much like it to arrive. I'm going on holiday," The Queen said.

Reporters have already flocked to St. Mary's hospital where Middleton is expected to give birth.

According to Associated Press, experts said Middleton's baby may not be overdue, as due dates come with in a margin of two-three weeks.

"The baby will come when he or she is ready," Janet Fyle, a midwife and professional policy adviser at Britain's Royal College of Midwives said. "But nature is the primary determinant (of the due date) and we can't do anything to change that," Fyle said.

Meanwhile, the Duchess was said to be relaxing over the weekend at her parents' home in Bucklebury, while Prince William and Prince Harry played polo at the Jerudong Trophy Match at the Cirencester Polo Club, an annual event which raises funds for some of his favorite charities, including Child Bereavement UK and the youth homelessness organization Centrepoint.

Prince William's father, Prince Charles said he hopes the baby will come soon, while wife, Princess Camilla said the family is on high alert.

"We are all just waiting by the telephone," she said earlier this week at a stop at Little Harbour children's hospice, located near St. Austell, Cornwall. "We are hopeful that by the end of the week he or she will be here."
