Although he wasn't able to physically appear at the 2013 Comic-Con in San Diego, actor Benedict Cumberbatch (Sherlock) hilariously explained via video just how his character faked his suicide during the season 2 finale confrontation with James Moriarty in Sherlock.

Through the use of stuffed animals to the Comic-Con audience, Cumberbatch explained how his character managed to survive to the fans.

"It's been so much fun, the scripts are just a delight. F**k it, I'm going to tell you how Sherlock survived ... I know you guys like your spoilers and I feel so much better telling you freedom," he said.

There had been a plethora of theories floating around of how Sherlock staged his bogus death during the Reichenbach Falls episode. Interesting to note, the Sherlock character did reveal the secret behind his fake death against the antagonist in the Sherlock books.

BBC's Sherlock is scheduled to be making its return on Thursday, October 31 with its Empty Hearse episode. The installment that follows that will be called The Sign of Three. Be sure to keep checking back for more of the latest details on the popular TV series.
