With season 9 of Bones ahead for September, the series' stars and executive producers appeared at Comic-Con Friday to tease some upcoming plot developments.

Firstly, Bones creator Hart Hanson confirmed that Temperance "Bones" Brennan (Emily Deschanel) and Seeley Booth (David Boreanaz) would definitely be getting married, despite their troubles in the season 8 finale.

"We're not fooling you - they will get married this season," Hanson said in the Bones panel at Comic-Con Friday. The pair was last seen calling off their engagement due to serial killer Pelant (Andrew Leeds) threatening Booth that innocent people would die if he married "Bones."

Despite the news that the duo will soon be able to get married, executive producer Ian Toynton revealed that the relationship between them would be "slightly different." He added, "The relationship has been pushed to a different level, a different place. They're in a serious place."

As for how the producers intend to deal with Pelant, Boreanaz said that he felt hopeful since, "He's getting a little old. He needs to go fast. From Booth's perspective, he's really annoying . . . I really think Booth should take him out, in a really strong manner."

Hanson inadvertently spoiled that he knew how Pelant was going to die, suggesting that he would die within season 9 at some point.

The producers talked about an ex-priest from Booth's past that will reappear to help him with his Pelant problem. Enstars previously reported the news of this ex-priest entering the show in season 9, but this is the first time Hanson talked about him directly.

"Everybody's mad at Booth for reneging on the engagement and he doesn't have anyone he can talk to," Hanson explained. "So he seeks out the man he used to talk to."

Hanson also revealed that another couple might have a future together, teasing, "Sweets (John Francis Daley) is still in the show, and Daisy (Carla Gallo) is still in the show."

Bones will be premiering on Monday, Sept. 16 at 8 p.m. on Fox.
