An attendee at Kerry Washington and Nnamdi Asomugha's wedding recently revealed details about the couple's secret June ceremony.

Sources said the couple married on June 24 in Hailey, Ohio, in an outdoor ceremony held on the grounds of a friend's house. An insider who reportedly attended the affair said the Scandal actress' wedding to the San Francisco 49ers cornerback was "simple and sweet."

"Everything was held at one of Kerry's friend's houses," the insider told People, cited in a Sunday report. "They flew a few people out on this little private plane. The house was beautiful."

"It was small, just family and close friends," the source added. "They said their own vows, people stayed at the house. It was really simple and sweet."

Washington also kept her wedding gown simple, according to the insider: "The dress was plain white, slim-fitting, like it could have been off a rack. It was really regular."

The 36-year-old star reportedly dated Asomugha, 32, for a little over a year before they got married. She was nominated for an Emmy award not long after news broke of her wedding. Speaking about the receiving the honor - for her portrayal of fixer Olivia Pope on the ABC series - Washington told the magazine, "I'm blessed. I'm really happy in all areas of my life."

Washington returned to Twitter on July 16 after a long hiatus that she said was "important and good." She tweeted that day, "I love being back here with you guys. #BestFansEver" and later added that she will use the social media website to only discuss her professional life.

"So... I just wanna say: its great being back & I LOVE reading all your tweets but...FYI I still dont talk about my personal life on here
