Skylar Laine and Colton from American Idol Are Not Dating

American Idol contestants Skylar Laine and Colton Dixon are not dating, according to one of them.

"Me and Colton aren't dating, that would be kind of weird. Colton is one of my best friends," the singer who wowed judges with her solo performance last night, told EOnline and Us Weekly.

"Not that he isn't a cutie! Of course he's a cutie!" Laine said of her fellow competitor dubbed the "Tim Tebow of American Idol."

Dixon and Laine performed "Islands In The Stream" by Kenny Rogers and Dolly Parton at the Top 8 performance show Wednesday night. Host Ryan Seacrest called out a hot new couple alert after their duet. Watch Below:
