Fans of the hit ABC TV series Castle are eagerly awaiting the outcome to its season 5 cliffhanger, which was Castle's (Nathan Fillion) marriage proposal to Detective Beckett (Stana Katic).

The latter must not only make a decision on if she'll tie the knot with the crime novelist, but also on a job opportunity offered to her in Washington, D.C.

Executive producer Andrew Marlowe briefly explained the impact that Castle's request for Beckett's hand in marriage will have on the dynamic between the two.

"Regardless of her answer, it is going to significantly change their relationship," he said.

Amid the potential engagement, the program will also feature "a birth, a new love interest for one character and possibly a wedding," according to TV Guide.

Speaking of love, it was previously reported that Esposito (Jon Huertas) and Lania (Tamala Jones) will face their own complications moving forward. However, Ryan (Seamus Dever) will become a father in a future episode.
