Actor Colin Hanks revealed his return to NCIS season 11 via Twitter on Monday.

"Back on the NCIS set and I've decided that when I die I want to come back as Mark Harmon's dog. #RealWondermutt," he tweeted.

The 35-year-old actor appeared on season 10's final two episodes playing Richard Parsons while Harmon plays Leroy Jehtro Gibbs. The two have a tumultuous relationship as Parsons, the Department of Defense Investigator, is on a quest to take down Gibbs.

Colins' fans were excited for his return, although they didn't show too much love for the character he portrays.

"Yay! I wish they didn't make your character a blackmailing slimeball. I like him, except for that," tweeted one social media user.

"Love NCIS although your character angers me so you are doing your job well. Keep up the good work," wrote another.

While Hanks is returning, one beloved character is not. As EnStars previously reported, actress Cote de Pablo (Ziva David) announced her departure from the show in July.

"I've had eight great years with NCIS and Ziva David," she said in a statement. "I have huge respect and affection for Mark [Harmon], Gary [Glasberg], Michael [Weatherly], David [McCallum], Rocky [Carroll], Pauley [Perrette], Brian [Dietzen], Sean [Murray], all of the team and CBS. I look forward to finishing Ziva's story."

It's unclear how Ziva David's story will end or in how many episodes she will appear. CBS released a statement in response to de Pablo's decision to leave.

"We respect Cote's decision, thank her for being an important part of the NCIS team and for eight terrific years playing Ziva David," the statement said. "Cote and CBS share a great respect for the NCIS audience, and we look forward to working with her and the producers on appropriate closure in this charter of Ziva's story."

The first episode of season 11 will be titled Whiskey Tango Foxtrot, according to TV Line. The season premiere will also introduce a new character named Ozzy, and his role is to obtain information about an unwanted intruder and destroy a hacker.

NCIS is television's most popular series with a viewership of 22.7 million. Season 11 premieres on Sept. 24.
