After lying low for nearly a month, actress and singer Jessica Simpson was photographed for the first time since giving birth to her baby boy Ace Knute Johnson.

Simpson was spotted this week attending a doctor's appointment in Beverly Hills with a female assistant, E! News reported Wednesday. She wore a tie-dyed muu-muu dress while carrying an over-sized designer bag. She paired the look with hoop earrings, black-tinted sunglasses and caramel-colored wedges.

The star returned to social media on July 12 when she posted a picture of her mom Tina Simpson wrapped up in a blanket like a baby. She captioned the picture, "Eric got carried away with his swaddling skills!"

Baby Ace was born on June 30, making Simpson and her fiance Eric Johnson parents for the second time. The newborn has an older sister, 1-year-old Maxwell Drew.

Simpson's rep said the fashion designer and her retired football player fiancé are ecstatic about their new baby boy, according to the news report. Ace's middle name reportedly is in honor of his paternal Swedish great-grandfather Knute Johnson. Maxwell Drew was received her first name from her father's middle name and Drew is the maiden name of Simpson's mom.

Though Simpson has stepped back in the spotlight, she has not yet showed Ace to the world.
