Charles H. Ferguson will direct CNN's Hilary Clinton movie, according to POLITICO.

Ferguson's has previously worked on the films Inside Job, for which he won an Academy Award, and the U.S. invasion of Iraq film No End In Sight.

"CNN is very pleased to be working with Academy-Award winner Charles Ferguson on the film, which will be released in theaters and air on CNN," Allison Gollust, the network's senior vice president of communications, told POLITICO on Monday.

Though the film doesn't have a release date, it could present a problem for CNN. The news network plans to debut the film ahead of the 2106 presidential campaign, which Clinton is expected to run in, and will have to field accusations of being bias in the attention they dedicate to the former Secretary of State.

"CNN's editorial side has no role in the production of the film, just as it has no role in any of the films produced or acquired by CNN Films," Gollust said.

Still, the 24-hour television news channel will likely face criticism for Republicans for devoting so much airtime to a Democratic candidate and CNN will have to convince the public as well as Clinton's competitors that the film will have no affect on the network's news reporting.

"We're hoping to understand how these concerns would be addressed," Nick Merrill, Clinton's press secretary, told POLITICO when asked whether or not he had concerns about the influence the film might have on CNN's reporting.

NBC will also face similar issues as it readies a forthcoming Hillary Clinton mini-series. The show will star Diane Lane and will follow Clinton from the Monica Lewinsky scandal through her time as Pres. Obama's Sec. of State, according to Variety.
