Charlize Theron, featured in In Style's August issue, talked about shaving her hair off for her film Mad Max: Fury Road.

"The more I talked to my director, George Miller, about my character, the more I realized there was no way around it. He didn't want to be the bad guy and just ask me to do it," Theron recalled, "so I finally called him and was like, "I need to shave my head, right?"

The 37-year-old actress went about the life-changing experience the easy way. Theron pulled a Britney Spears and buzzed her hair off with a razor.

"I had just finished two press tours and my hair was destroyed from heat damage, so I was glad to get rid of it," Theron added. "I was also a new mom and just loved the idea of not having to style my hair every morning. The timing was perfect."

The actress, who is a single mother to her 1-year-old son Jackson, was excited to play Imperator Furiosa before learning about the physical changes she had to make.

"George (Miller) really created a female character that I've never read anything like. I mean, I'm scared shitless," she revealed in an interview with ScreenRant"I think  for me, originally, when they were like, 'Oh, Mad Max,' I was like, 'Uh, I'm not going to play the f**king girl...then I read it and I was like, 'Oh, Mad Max, I feel sorry for you."

Mad Max: Fury Road is set to hit theaters sometime next year. The Australian post-apocalyptic action film also stars Tom Hardy, Nicholas Hoult and Rosie Huntington- Whiteley.
