Fueling rumors that they are dating, Kate Upton and Maksim Chmerkovskiy went out for dinner on Monday night after attending a red carpet event, Daily Mail reported.

The model and former Dancing with the Stars professional dancer dined at Catch in New York City. Upton, 21, entered the eatery while holding on to the hand of friend Kate Lacey, and Chmerkovskiy, 33, quickly followed behind. He wore a gray suit and matching tie with a purple shirt while Upton sported a black and white, floral patterned dress. The pair also shared a town car and sat close to each other in the back seat, proven by paparazzi photos. Earlier in the evening she attended a red carpet event for the HBO documentary Casting By.

Though speculation continues that the model and dancer might be dating, his brother, Val Chmerkovskiy, told Enstars in June that they are "just friends."

"That's my brother. We talk a lot, and he hasn't said anything," Val said about the dating rumors. "They're just good friends." 

Maksim previously dated his fellow dancing pro, Australian Peta Murgatroyd. He was also engaged to Dancing With the Stars professional dancer Karina Smirnoff; but they called it quits in September of 2009.  Upton was romantically linked to Justin Bieber's best friend King Kevi and also Detroit Tigers pitcher Justin Verlander. She celebrated New Years with the athlete on St. Thomas and his grandfather confirmed that they were dating.

When asked by Extra if he was dating the Sports Illustrated model, Maksim reported left the possibility open that something could be brewing between them. 

"What? We go way back," he said about him and Upton. "Right now I am completely engulfed in Broadway, but we'll see."
