Priyanka Chopra sought "respect" when Rosie O'Donnell apologized publicly for believing Deepak Chopra was her father. Instead of making things better,  O'Donnell's apology seems to have add more fuel the fire.

"I have never taken myself so seriously to think everyone would know who I am, or my work for that matter. But if you wanted to make a public apology for a very awkward private encounter, I think probably best to take the time to google my name before doing it or even try to reach out directly," the "Quantico" alum wrote in a statement, shared on her Instagram story on Wednesday.

Someone on IG was able to save the actress' IG story, which is shown below:

She added that everyone deserves to be respected for their "unique" personality and not just be referred to as "someone," let alone as just someone's "wife, especially in an apology that was  supposed to be sincere.

"If we can learn to respect our differences in an authentic way, the world we raise our children in, will be amazing," she added.

The last sentence on her statement pokes fun at people who assume she's related to the great Deepak just because of her surname.

O'Donnell, 59, was chastised by online users earlier this week for thinking that Deepak, 75, was Priyanka's father during a recent run-in with the former Bollywood actress, 39, and her husband, Nick Jonas, at Nobu Malibu.

"I said, 'Hi, Nick Jonas. You were great in "Kingdom" and 'Hi, [Priyanka]. I know your dad.' She goes, 'You do? Who's my dad?' And I'm like, 'Deepak,'" O'Donnell recalled in a TikTok video. "She's like, 'No, and Chopra is a common name.' ... I felt so embarrassed."

O'Donnell then quickly apologized. "To Nick Jonas, I apologize, and to the Chopra wife, I apologize too." It is this statement that did not sit well with people, and Priyanka herself; hence triggering this IG story.

But Priyanka Chopra did not just go to her Instagram to react to the offhanded apology. She also went to her social media to share some good vibes.

On Feb. 23, the 39-year-old actress shared a "photo dump" to Instagram with selfies, food shots and snaps of Priyanka and Nick's dogs Diana and Panda. Among the lovely images was also an image of what looked to be a nursery, offering followers a glimpse into the couple's next chapter as parents.
