Katy Perry Splits Her Pants During American Idol And Handles It In The Funniest Way.

In one of the more amusing moments seen on American Idol in quite some time, Katy Perry had a wardrobe malfunction which she handled like a seasoned champ.

During a rendition of her hit song Teenage Dream, which she had the crowd singing along with, Perry decided to squat down while wearing a pair of skin tight red leather pants. It was then that an audible ripping sound prompted her to immediately stand up and walk to the wings of the stage.

Luke Bryan was first to respond with, "They busted," as himself and the crowd had a laugh at the singer's expense. Lionel Richie followed with, "The concert is over."

Being a great sport about the whole ordeal, Perry simply asked for some gaffer's tape. In a flash, crew members and Bryan began repairing the tear with a roll of bright yellow tape, as Perry bent over a desk. She continued the show with a big yellow T holding the seams together along with a big smile on her face.

This wouldn't be the first time Perry has had this happen to her while hosting American Idol. Back in 2018, while wearing a silver sequined jumpsuit, Perry was conversing with her co-hosts doing nothing more than sitting down. Suddenly, she burst into laughter only to stand up and display the busted back side of her outfit to the cameras. Even then she played off the incident with a laugh.
