Austin Butler is confusing and surprising fans bizarrely during his appearance at the 2022 Met Gala.

Recently, the Hollywood actor completed filming for the impending "Elvis" biopic, in which he played Elvis Presley.

Now, he's left admirers wondering if he stayed in character after they were surprised to hear how loud his voice was as he did interviews on the Met Gala red carpet on Monday evening.

At the famous event, the 30-year-old Anaheim native was promoting the film while strolling the red carpet on the arm of the King of Rock and Roll's wife, Priscilla Anne Presley. She recently complimented him on his portrayal of her late husband.

Austin's performance was praised as "amazing," with the actor exclaiming, "It's a dream come true." It's truly unique."

While Austin's voice did not appear to be any deeper than it had been in previous films, such as the 2016 "Yoga Hosers," fans did notice a minor change in his accent.

Fans admitted on Twitter that they had never heard Austin Butler speak in an interview before and were taken aback by his strong accent.

Others, on the other hand, were convinced that he simply picked up the Southern accent from his role as Elvis Presley in the film.

"Idk what I anticipated Austin Butler to sound like, but that was definitely not it," one Twitter user said.

"Is Austin Butler going to perform a crazy semi-Elvis voice while marketing this movie?" asked another.

"What the hell happened to Austin Butler's voice, holy f--," a third individual inquired.

"Did Austin Butler do some extreme method acting for Elvis since his voice obviously has changed," a fourth person believes.
