Tamra Barney is finally opening up about a health scare that almost killed her last year.

The Real Housewives of Orange County star says she “almost died" after suffering from a burst hernia, E! News reported.

Tamra has revealed that doctors “had to reconstruct my whole stomach.

"It was really, really bad. I almost died," she said.

Thankfully, the procedure was not fatal and after undergoing emergency surgery because her "intestines were dying," Tamra recuperated for five days in the hospital.

"The scary thing was I was supposed to go to Mexico the next morning and had I gotten on the airplane, they said it probably wouldn't have been able to get down in time," Barney said.

Now, Barney is happy and healthy but noted that she does have metal plates in her stomach.

Tamra has managed to keep a positive attitude about things.

"I have, like, abs of steel!" she joked.

For now, she's enjoying newleywed life with Eddie Judge, whom she tied the knot with about six weeks ago. They were married in a lavish afternoon affair at the St. Regis Monarch Beach Resort in Dana Point, Calif.

Bravo will air a three-part wedding spinoff called Tamra's OC Wedding premiering on Sept. 2.
