Sarah Jessica Parker recently opened up about her catfight with former "Sex and the City" actress Kim Cattrall - and why the latter wasn't asked to be a part of "And Just Like That."

The first season of the revived series was recently launched on HBO Max.

In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter's "Awards Chatter" podcast, the "Hocus Pocus" alum admitted that discussing the matter with her former costar is difficult. Still, she wanted to make it clear that this is not a two-way catfight as the media portrays it.

Parker wanted to go through what transpired, and she expressed it this way: "There has been one person talking."

According to her interview, the troubles with Cattrall may have started in 2017 when a third film for "Sex and the City" was being explored, but the concept finally fell through due to Cattrall's contractual demands of Warner Bros.

According to reports, Cattrall made her involvement contingent on Warner Bros., which was meant to fund and distribute the film, giving the go light to an unrelated project of hers.

"They didn't feel comfortable meeting where she wanted to meet," Parker explained in the interview, "so we didn't make the movie because we didn't want to do it without Kim."

"Were we disappointed [she and co-stars Kristin Davis and Cynthia Nixon]? Sure. But it does happen."

Then Kim Cattrall went public with her criticism of Sarah Jessica Parker, accusing her of being harsh to her during the first run of the successful HBO series from the 1990s until early 2000s.

Cattrall went on to say that they weren't friends, the same connection she had with Nixon and Davis, and that she even turned down Parker's sympathies after Cattrall's brother died in 2018.

Parker, on the other hand, refuted Cattrall's claims that she was mistreated, saying, "I've spent a lot of years working hard always to be decent to everybody on the set, to take care of people, to be responsible to and for people, both my employers and the people that I feel I'm responsible for as the show's producer."

"And no one has ever talked about me in this way before."

While Parker admitted that Cattrall was a key part of "Sex and the City's" popularity, she made it clear that Cattrall was not requested to be a part of the revival because "she made it obvious that it wasn't something she wanted to pursue."

She went on to say that she is not slamming Cattrall, but rather "learning."

"You have to listen to someone, and if they're publicly talking about something and it doesn't imply it's someplace they want to be, or a person they want to play with, or an atmosphere in which they want to be, you get to a point where you're like, 'Well, we hear that.'"
