Jane Austen is, historically,  one of the world's favorite authors to adapt for the screen - a trend that is continuing on, as the trailer for Persuasion has just been released.

Persuasion is one of Jane Austen's classic, but lesser-known novels, giving us a Regency-Era perspective on people getting a second chance at love. It is time's most epic the-one-that-got-away novel.

After being persuaded out of a marriage to the love of her life, Anne Elliot finds herself wishing she had stood her ground, when confronted with his face and his presence once again. She is now stuck watching him - Captain Frederick Wentworth - try to move on, as she strives to do the same with Mr. Elliot. Is it possible to persuade themselves out of their feelings for each other?

As exemplified in the trailer, the cast of the upcoming adaptation of Persuasion is immediately captivating. Dakota Johnson will take on the leading role of Anne Elliot. Captain Frederick Wentworth will be played by Cosmo Jarvis, and Mr. Elliot will be played by Henry Golding.

This adaptation is being produced by Neflix, and will come to the streaming service in mid-July. The trailer captures the heart and humor of the piece - getting us excited with a few direct audience addresses from Anne Elliot herself.

We cannot way to see Persuasion when it comes to Netflix on July 15th.
