Evelyn Lozada confirmed that her ex-husband Chad Ochocinco Johnson's infidelities triggered the domestic violence incident that left a gash on her head.

In a teaser for the upcoming season of VH1's Basketball Wives, set to premiere August 19, Lozada, is heard talking to her mother about having every reason to be mad over the discovery of condoms purchased by the former football player. At the time of the head-butting incident, the couple were only married for less than a month.

"I have every reason to be pissed off that my husband of three weeks is buying condoms," Lozada, 37, said. "I think I have every right, but he knows I was good to him."

Lozada's mother expressed shock and disappointment in what happened.

"I know, I'm shocked too. He became like my son-in-law. I lost one ya know. Everything happened at the same time," her mother said.

Also during the same time of the incident, Lozada lost her brother, Anthony to cancer.

Anthony, who was married to Lozada's sister, Sylvia, escorted her down the aisle during her July 4, 2012 wedding to Johnson.

"It's just like the timing is crazy. It's like two of my best friends just gone. Which feels f----d up. You know? Why is this happening to my life? That's my brother and then he dies right after the incident with me and Chad ... Words can't even explain how dark I felt - like, this can't be my life," the reality star said.

"Why is this happening to my life? Like that's my brother and he like dies. Right after the incident with me and Chad. And it just-I can't even; words can't even explain how dark I felt," she continued.

Lozada's mother is clearly shaken up about all of the loss of her son-and-law and what happened to Lozada offers some advice to her daughter.

"It's going to hurt for a while, but you're going to bounce back - you always do," she says.
