Will Smith is reportedly regretful but already in a better place months after slapping Chris Rock at the Oscars.

The "slap heard around the world" continues to be a buzz four months since it happened at the 2022 Oscars. While Smith and Rock remain silent about it, Kevin Hart recently gave an update about the "King Richard" star.

In an exclusive interview with ET Online's Rachel Smith during the premiere of "DC League of Super-Pets" in Los Angeles. According to Hart, Smith is apologetic since the event happened.

"Will is apologetic, you know, he's in a better space, of course, than what he was after. People are human and as humans sometimes we make mistakes. So it's not about talking about the past, it's about acknowledging the present and doing your best to move forward," he said.

Hart also expressed his hope that the two actors would soon reconcile and move forward with their lives. For the "Jumanji" star, he reportedly wants nothing but to see people be the best.

Despite what happened, the comedian said he still loves Rock and Smith. In the end, he asked people to give Jada Pinkett Smith's husband a chance to grow.

Will Smith Regrets Slapping Chris Rock

It was not the first time a friend of Smith spoke up about the actor's status.

Last month, the two stars' mutual friend Tyler Perry told Gayle King during the panel at the Tribeca Film Festival that both of his friends faced difficult situations.

He noted that Smith was ruined after the slap.

"He couldn't believe what happened. He couldn't believe he had done it. I'm looking at this man in his eyes going, 'What are you doing? This is your night.' And to get all the way to this moment, winning an Oscar, that was one of the crowning moments of his career that he wanted so desperately, and to have something like that happen," he continuously said, as quoted by Fox News.

The filmmaker added that he read Smith's book and found out that the actor was not able to protect his mother as a child. It somewhat explained why he acted immediately to defend his wife.

But since he is friends with Rock and Smith, Perry spoke up about having difficulties after the incident.

Meanwhile, Jada said during her "Red Table Talk" that she hopes Rock and Smith would reconcile soon as the world needs them now.
