New details have emerged, concerning Man of Steel 2, and they include title speculation and cast rumors.

The Superman sequel, which will feature the Man of Steel facing off against Batman, may be getting a more abstract title than Batman vs. Superman. According to a sources that spoke to Superman Homepage, director Zack Snyder is looking for inspiration in past Batman/Superman comic books, such as World's Finest and Public Enemies.

Neither of these comic series depicts a battle between Batman and Superman, so this would suggest that the new film might not actually find the two superheroes at odds. Whether the film will feature the title Man of Steel 2: World's Finest or Man of Steel 2: Public Enemies is unknown at this time.

Much of the hype surrounding Man of Steel 2 has centered around who will play Batman. Enstars previously reported that several actors are being considered for the role, including Teen Wolf star Tyler Hoechlin and other actors such as Josh Brolin and Ryan Gosling. One actor who has expressed an interest in appearing in a superhero film is True Blood star Joe Manganiello.

Manganiello recently talked to MTVNews about the type of crusader film he would like to star in.

"I want to do something that's a real deconstruction of the genre," Manganiello explained. "There's so many superhero projects out there that it's almost like they're becoming normal, so I want to do one that just flips it on its head and makes it crazy. I want to make the Fight Club of superhero movies."

Manganiello has a regular role on the seriesTrue Blood, so it could be difficult for him to take on the role of Batman, depending on the shooting schedule for both productions.

Regardless of casting rumors, an article from The Hollywood Reporter said the selection process has not begun yet, so most of the rumors aren't valid. Man of Steel 2 is set to be released in 2015.
