Royal insiders fear that Meghan Markle's recent explosive interview will overshadow the 25th anniversary of Princess Diana's death. If that is to happen, then Prince Harry himself will be hurt by this. Has Meghan Markle gone overboard this time?

On August 29, in a lengthy interview with New York Magazine's The Cut, the Duchess of Sussex spoke out about the royal family, stating that Prince Harry has "lost" his bond with his father, Prince Charles, and adding that she was "glad" to leave the United Kingdom.

Some of her friends told Page Six that Markle had little control over the timing of the story's release, which comes just two days before her husband and his older brother, Prince William, commemorate the quarter-century anniversary of their mother's death.

Diana died tragically in an automobile accident in Paris on August 31, 1997, at the age of 36. Markle stated in an interview taped at her and Prince Harry's $14.5 million house in Montecito, California, that simply by "existing" she and her husband were "upsetting the hierarchy."

An insider revealed how bad this interview timing is.

"It seems that Meghan always needs there to be some kind of reference to her and Diana. "But on this particular occasion, her camp could have asked for the story to run after the anniversary. It does make things all about Meghan."

According to a source close to Markle, the 41-year-old conducted the interview to promote her new podcast "Archetype" on Spotify, which debuted last week.

Her first episode featured tennis superstar Serena Williams; a second episode featuring Mariah Carey will be released on Tuesday, a day prior to the anniversary. "

She will have been under contract to do publicity for Spotify," the Markle source said. "Knowing how Harry feels about his mother, the last thing she would want to do is upset him. But Spotify did announce earlier this year that the podcast would be out in late summer."

Harry, 37, and William, 40, always observe the occasion privately, with Harry sending flowers to his mother's grave at her ancestral home, Althorp House, which is located approximately 100 miles north of London.

The princes were only 15 and 12 years old when their mother passed away. Last Thursday, Harry stated that during the 25th anniversary of my mother's passing, he wanted it to be a day full with recollections of her extraordinary job and admiration for the manner in which she performed it.
