Christel Khalil, known as Lily Winters Ashby on The Young and The Restless, sued Mavrick Artists Agency Inc. in California court Tuesday claiming they did not allow her to leave the show when she wanted to.

According to Law360 (via We Love Soaps), Khalil claimed Mavrick refused to let her terminate her contract with the show in April 2013 after it "violated their agreement and withheld money." The contract was supposed to last 18 months, but Khalil took action 10 months into the agreement.

"Christel Khalil, over growing and repeated concerns that the defendants had failed in their obligations under the contract...damaging her career and causing her substantial economic losses and damages, served notice of termination, thereby rendering the contract void," the complaint said.

The lawsuit alleged that the talent agency only sent her on "two auditions" for series regular roles during the 2012-13 pilot season, failed to send her on any commercial auditions and failed to compensate her for her guest role on 2 Broke Girls. Khalil also stated that she was "embarrassed" that Mavrick submitted her for the role on The Young and The Restless, where she has been on a contract role for the past 10 years.

Other violations against the talent agency include: "Converted her earnings and income to their personal use without permission, co-mingled funds from one of her projects to another and demanded payment of commissions higher than 10 percent."

The 25-year-old actress is currently seeking damages and reimbursement of all funds paid to Mavrick during the time of her contract.

Khalil has played Lily on CBS's daytime soap opera since 2002. In 2012, she won a Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Younger Actress in a Drama Series. She can be seen in the video below during a 2012 appearance on The Talk.
