It seems that even Heidi Klum couldn't wait to get her hands on the new ground-breaking pastry.

The 40-year-old supermodel shared her excitement about purchasing Cronuts on Twitter.

"I have literally waited weeks to try one of @DominiqueAnsel's Cronuts and it was definitely worth the wait!" she tweeted on Wednesday.

After taping America's Got Talent at New York's Radio City Music Hall, Klum flew back via a private jet to her home in L.A. She made sure the Cronuts remained safe on the flight, so her four children can each have a taste.

"Flying back home with a box of #cronuts for my loved ones," she tweeted along with a picture of the boxed pastries secured with a seatbelt on the flight.

The half-croissant, half-doughnut was launched in May by Chef Dominique Ansel, who has a bakery on Spring Street in New York City's Soho neighborhood. The deep-fried flaky pastry, which is filled with vanilla cream, has become so popular that hundreds of New Yorkers wait in line for two hours prior to the store's opening. The bakery also has a two-Cronut-per-person limit for in-store purchases and a six-per-person limit for those on the pre-order list.

"Heidi's crew were first rate citizens," Amy Ma, the press representative for the bakery, told MailOnline. "They called two weeks in advanced for pre-orders like everyone else did and waited fairly for them...they were also extremely polite."

Even though Klum stays in top shape, she has admitted to occasionally splurging on fattening foods.

"I love a good hamburger and French fries with mayonnaise and ketchup. That's definitely one of my splurges. And chocolate with hazelnuts," Klum told OK! magazine
