Actor and martial artist Ray Park, who had starred as Darth Maul in The Phantom Menace, reportedly stated that he would love to make a return to the Star Wars franchise for Episode VII.

The 38-year-old Scottish actor recently told Yahoo! that he would go to great length to reprise his gorundbreaking role as Darth Maul, which included living in seclusion for an extended period of time.

"I've said that I would play anything to do with Star Wars. But really, really, deep down, I would love to come back as Darth Maul - that's what I want to do. I would go crazy, go mental, lock myself in a cabin, you know. Do the whole 'method' for two or three months, spear-fishing and stuff... just to play the character again," Park said.

Park also praised Episode VII director JJ Abrams, who he said he's been acquainted with for quite some time.

"I think it's great that J.J. is doing it. I've known for many years that he's a big Star Wars fan. What he's done for Star Trek is phenomenal. I think he's the right man for the job and I'm ecstatic that Star Wars is coming back," he added.

Surprisingly enough, Park used to excessively ponder the filming process of the franchise well before he grew into adulthood.

"When I was a kid, I used to go: 'Why did they film 4, 5 and 6? When are they gonna do 6,7 and 8? 1,2 and 3? And now they're actually doing it," he added.

Production on franchise already underway?
