Prince Harry was more happy before he met Meghan Markle, according to one royal expert.

Royal correspondent and commentator Kinsey Schofield joined Patrick Christys for a discussion on GB News. They talked about Paddy McGuinness' recent revelation about meeting Prince Harry and the wild night they had while partying at a VIP club in Chelsea. Christys asked Schofield what Prince Harry's life is like now compared to that.

"I imagine that it's lots of weed ... Lots of mushrooms, and I'm only saying that because I've read 'Spare,' probably some sage and some yoga," Schofield replied.

"It's definitely not the world that he left behind. But like I told you last time, I sincerely think he misses that world. I think he misses [that]."

Prince Harry mentioned in his memoir "Spare," released earlier this year, that he had taken cocaine, marijuana or cannabis and magic mushrooms for fun and therapeutic benefits. He claimed that the psychedelic drugs allowed him to see "the truth."

Schofield weighed in on how Prince Harry changed from those years and after he married his wife, Markle. The "R is for Revenge" author said Prince Harry had more freedom before meeting the former "Suits" star.

"I think he had way more freedom to be who he truly was, and I'm not insulting Meghan Markle, but I think he had way more freedom to be true to himself before he got married. He's become a totally different human being and, based on the content that he's provided to us, does not seem like a happy individual," Schofield said.

Some netizens shared the same opinion. They felt that Prince Harry was no longer happy and blamed Markle for it.

"A part of me feels #PrinceHarry is trapped in a marriage he doesn't want to be in. The vile wife has brainwashed him that his family is against him, but the truth is they would welcome him back with open arms when Markle decides he's no use to her," one wrote on X, formerly Twitter.

Meanwhile, another argued, "#MrJusticeMan Prince Harry was trapped for so long, then he met Meghan and found his freedom."

Prince Harry's pal James Haskell, former England rugby star, also spoke about him at Bath Forum in Somerset for the "World Cup Afterparty: The Good, The Bad and The Ugly" -- the live version of his and Mike Tindall's rugby podcast. According to him, Prince Harry was "quite fun" when they met and that was years before he dated and married Markle.

Meanwhile, according to McGuinness, the club where he met Prince Harry had a secret door for the royal. There were reportedly cameras, but his security guard took care of those.

"I was talking to one of the security lads at the end -- because there was all sorts going on; he [Harry] was ripping my t-shirt off, snogging and kissing me and ripped a photo of the Queen off the wall and said 'I can't have her watching me doing this,'" McGuinness said.

"And I said: 'What's going to go on here?' and the guy said: 'They [the footage] will never see the light of day.' This is one of the clubs royals can let off steam."

McGuinness said his brief interaction with Prince Harry changed his impression of the royal.

"That was just one interaction with him, but I think when you're in a pub with someone, and you're both on the p***ed side, you get to see that person, and I kind of think whatever is being said about him in the press -- and I don't know a thing about him -- but just seeing him in that situation for an hour or two, I thought actually, he's alright," McGuinness said.
